What a wild ride...

When Wendt created our new lockpicks with screw-on handles, we didn't know that Moritz himself was working on his own lockpicks during the Corona period. Similar to us, he wanted to develop a new type of hand pick, but where we compromised in a few places, such as the length of the picks so that our picks would also fit in bags from other manufacturers, Moritz went all out.

Even when we received an order in our webshop in November 2021 for a few of our hand picks with handles and our screws, we didn't know that the developer of the MOKI picks was facing a similar challenge to us at the time...
There are simply no decent screws in the size needed for handpicks.
At the end of this month we received the call that started with the gentleman wanting to make his own lockpicks and asking if he could use our screws. He would understand if we said no.

Here, however, we didn't understand... Why should we say no? The idea behind our new screw system was to allow the lockpicks to be more adaptable. And thus help the community. If this brings a completely new product onto the market, that's definitely not a problem.
“So I can easily buy your screws in large quantities from you in the webshop?” Here, however, we answered "NO". He should purchase these at a discount as a dealer.

Now almost exactly 2 years after the first order from our shop, we are happy to be able to sell the MOKI picks ourselves and thus support Moritz in some way. Over the past 2 years, we have followed the MOKI picks' careers closely and provided support and advice.

What’s special about MOKI picks.

Inspired by some custom pickmakers, MOK-Workshop wanted to have a finish for commercial picks that would impress with absolute flatness and surface quality. Because every unevenness on the picks ends up causing unwanted “feedback” from friction within the lock. As far as the community can be trusted, he did it!

Clamping tools, on the other hand, should have bite, sit well in the lock core and be very tough. The tool is repeatedly loaded and unloaded with force, which leads to deformation if the steel is of inferior quality. The Prybar tensioners offered by MOKI are made from the highest quality knife steel, which impresses with its high tensile strength and wear resistance. With some of these tools you are more likely to damage the lock before the tool breaks.

Flat wire tensioners are, as the name suggests, made from flat-rolled spring wire and have comparable properties. They also come with a black surface finish, which gives each tool an extra visual finish.

We can confidently say that each profile has been tested in practice. The only thing that can speak against MOKI's tools is simply personal taste.
